• Women on Parole Shine in Renewed Program

In response to the lack of prison re-entry services for women, the Boston Rescue Mission initiated the Women's Parole Re-Entry Program in 2005. This highly structured residential program provides services and a stable living situation to women who have recently left the prison system and are at high-risk for or have a history of homelessness. An emphasis on intensive case management and a continuum of care approach prepares women to live self-sufficient, fulfilling, and crime-free lives. Since 2005, this transitional program has served nearly 250 women. Nearly 70% of these women have successfully graduated to permanent housing or next-step treatment, and the program has been hailed as a leader by the Massachusetts Department of Corrections.
